Samsara Eco, in partnership with the Australian National University (ANU), is developing a revolutionary technology that allows for the recycling of plastics through a proprietary enzymatic technology. This enzymatic process breaks down plastics (polymers) back to their original building blocks (monomers) for reuse in manufacturing new plastics or upcycling to more valuable materials. We believe this is a breakthrough because it will enable infinite recycling with (to our knowledge) the best techno-economics, significant carbon emissions savings relative to producing virgin plastic from fossil fuels and food grade recycled plastics with the same structural integrity as virgin plastics. With infinite recycling of plastics within reach, the last plastic bottle that needed to be made from virgin petrochemicals has already been produced.
